Preamble

Sirajganj Sadar Upazila Protibandhi Kallayan Sangstha is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Sirajganj district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 07/11/2011. It started involving 200 persons with disabilities with support from NDP. Now, the organization has a total of 400 members, among them 225 male and 175 female. The organization implements its activities, ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the bylaws of the organization, there are 51 members in its General Committee, and 11 members are in the Executive Committee. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization is striving for partnerships with mainstreaming organizations to ensure Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
